GCSE and A-Level Results

12th September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

A-Level and GCSE Results

I would like to say (a huge!) congratulations to all of our A Level and GCSE students for their brilliant results this week.

Notre Dame and St Boniface’s College is immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.

We will be delighted to welcome a record number of students into our Sixth Form for A Level and BTEC studies, given how well everyone has done in their GCSEs.

Overall, both schools have made positive improvements on last year’s record breaking outcomes, achieving an average of C+ at A level for our joint Sixth Form, and a rise in value of 0.1 to +0.2 at Post 16, for the fifth year in a row.

At Notre Dame, GCSE Attainment 8 is 52 and English and Maths combined (Basics) for the 9-5 grade is at 62% and for 9-4 at 84%.  Progress has risen to the ‘well above average’ category.

At St Boniface’s College, GCSE Attainment 8 is 46 and English and Maths combined (Basics) for the 9-5 grade is at 49% and for 9-4 at 59%.  Progress has steadied in the ‘average’ category, and has improved from the past year when it was ‘below average’.

Some students at both schools have done extremely well, with a top scorer in each school achieving six grades at 9 and four at grade 8, and many students have achieved greater progress than expected in this most challenging year.

Enormous congratulations to you all – we are immensely proud of every student and of your teachers and families who helped you to get this far and we look forward to your future success.
