Welcome Back!
Our Mission Theme this year is ‘Live Life to the Full’. Please find below a quote taken from St John’s Gospel:
“I have come so you may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
I hope that you have had a restful and enjoyable summer break and managed to embrace some sort of normality with your friends and family.
This week, we are giving a warm welcome to our new Year 7 students, who are all settling in well and looking forward to learning and achieving their goals with us.
We are also pleased to welcome back the rest of the school and are feeling optimistic about the forthcoming year.
Open Evenings and Early School Closures Notre Dame will be holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 15th September at 4pm to 7pm and St Boniface’s College will be holding an Open Evening on Wednesday 22nd September at 4pm to 7pm. Please be advised that both schools will close early at 2.15pm on these days.
Our staggered breaks and lunchtimes will allow Years 8 and 10 to have an early lunch and then go to Period 4 and then home. It will also allow Years 7, 9 and 11 to have a later lunch at 1.45pm after Period 4, and then either leave immediately or after lunch at 2.15pm.
Please ensure that the necessary travel arrangements have been made for your child, unless they are staying in school to help at these events.
We are seeking student helpers for the Open Evenings at both schools to be Student Guides. If your child is interested, please ask them to contact Mrs Clancy at Notre Dame and Mrs Casey at St Boniface’s College. A separate letter will be sent to students about this shortly.
If you know anyone who is looking to start a secondary school next September, we hope that you will recommend our schools. We would be grateful if you could direct them to our websites to sign up to our Open Evenings –
www.ndonline.org and www.stbonifaces.com. We look forward to meeting prospective students and their familes on these dates.
COVID-19 Measures
A separate letter with an update about our COVID-19 measures has recently been sent to you, and it includes a
recommendation from Public Health England, who advises all students to wear face coverings in communal school areas.
However, this is not compulsory, but we hope that you will all support us in helping to keep our communities safe whilst
we continue to fight the virus.
Break and Lunchtime Arrangements
We are continuing with the staggered break and lunch times to help keep our school COVID safe. Please find details of
timings below:
Year 7, 9, 11 (and Sixth Form at Notre Dame)
Break: 11.15 – 11.45
Lunch: 1.45 – 2.15
Year 8 and 10
Break: 10.15 – 10.45
Lunch: 12.45 – 1.15
Parking at Notre Dame School
We cannot provide any parking for parents on Notre Dame Drive or on the school site. We kindly ask that you do not
park in the bus bays or turning circles and must always arrange an alternative drop off and pick up point, to prevent
obstructing the school bus system. Please also be considerate of our neighbours and do not block their drives. Thank
you for your cooperation.
Parent Contact Details
Can parents and carers please ensure that they keep their personal details, including email addresses, regularly updated
at both schools. It is vitally important that we know who to contact in an emergency and that you receive
communications from us.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Kate White

Great souls are needed, souls that have the interest of the greater glory of God at heart.”
