Hepburn House is named after the iconic actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn. Initially recognised as a film and fashion icon, she devoted much of her later life to UNICEF, working in some of the most profoundly disadvantaged communities in Africa, South America and Asia. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of her work in 1991.
Hepburn House is facilitated by a team of enthusiastic, caring and conscientious tutors who pastorally lead their tutor groups, infusing them with our Notre Dame values and building a Hepburn Heart – a heart that thrives to be kind, respectful, caring, well mannered, goes the extra mile amongst other good qualities.
We also have 2 fantastic student ambassadors who are excellent role models for the whole student body – Sophie and Jess.
To reflect Audrey Hepburn’s caring attitude in our school lives, we have explored the subjects of anti-bullying, how to use social media responsibly, reconciliation, trust, faith and respect in our tutor groups and also in our assemblies. We have also taken part in BBC Children in Need charity event and Reverse Advent Calendar activity where all food collected are donated to a chosen charity. Each of these weekly themes and charity efforts embeds Hepburn’s community spirit, and we are proud to have such an inspirational woman as our patron.
