Dear Parents and Carers,
Temporary School Closure Update - Wednesday 15th January
I am writing to update you regarding our current heating challenges at Notre Dame. Firstly, can I thank you so much for your support with managing a difficult situation. We know that this may have caused some of our parents and carers inconvenience, and we really appreciate your help. Further to the announcement sent yesterday, I am contacting you to say that the issues with the boiler system at Notre Dame are still ongoing. Engineers are onsite and are prioritising the repairs. We have some hot water restored in parts of the school, however we are not able to welcome all students back to school tomorrow due to the continuing problems with heating the main teaching block.
Tomorrow we will be open to Year 11 and 13 students, who we expect to be in school, and who will have their lessons delivered as normal. It is likely that students will be in different rooms to normal, in areas which are unaffected by the heating issues. All Year 11 and 13 students are expected to attend school as normal from tomorrow onwards.
Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 will continue with remote learning, with teaching staff available to support throughout the lesson time just as they have been today.
Vaccinations which were due to take place tomorrow have been postponed until Monday 20th January.
Thank you again for your support, and do please contact the school as normal if you have any questions or concerns. I will be in touch again tomorrow with an update.
Kind regards
Mrs A Morgan
Head of School
